Connecting an AI Provider

MuRu AI never stores its own API key. It reads whatever is configured in SP Page Builder's own settings.

  1. Open a page in the SP Page Builder editor and go to Settings → Generative AI.
  2. Paste an OpenAI or Google Gemini API key and pick a model.

Recommended models: GPT-4o, GPT-4.1 or Gemini 2.5 Pro — enough context for the layout guide and reliable JSON. Small models such as gpt-3.5-turbo do not have enough context and usually return invalid layouts; MuRu AI shows a warning in the prompt window when a weak model is configured.

If a model rejects an option (for example JSON mode), MuRu AI automatically retries with a plain request so generation still succeeds.
