Overview

What it is

MuRu Migration (com_murumigration, formerly Easy Import/Export) is an administrator-only Joomla component that moves users and groups, articles and categories with images, menus, and modules between Joomla sites as portable files. Export from any Joomla version (3, 4, 5, 6) and import into any other.

Two packages, one format

• J3 Edition (Joomla 3.4–3.10, PHP 5.6+) and J4/5/6 Edition (Joomla 4+, PHP 8.1+) produce the same export format, so a J3 export imports cleanly into J6 and vice versa.
• There is no Free/Pro split: both packages require an active MuRu Migration license before the migration tools unlock.

Two ways to migrate

• Full Migration tab (default): one ZIP for the whole site, imported in one pass in dependency order.
• Advanced tabs (Modules, Menus, Articles, Users): selective per-type exports and imports.
