Installation & Requirements

MuRu Reviews installs like any standard Joomla extension. One bundle zip contains everything: the component, the module, the shortcode plugin, and the SP Page Builder addon.

Requirements

• Joomla 5 or 6 -- native extension, no backwards-compatibility plugin needed.
• PHP 8.1 or newer. The installer refuses older versions with a clear message instead of half-installing.
• SP Page Builder 4, 5, or 6 -- only if you want the page-builder addon. The module, shortcode, and menu page work without it.
• A Google Places API (New) key -- covered in Connect Your Google Business Profile.

Install in 2 minutes

1. In the Joomla admin go to System > Install > Extensions and upload pkg_murureviews-X.Y.Z.zip.
2. Go to System > Manage > Plugins, search "MuRu Reviews", and enable the content shortcode plugin and the SP Page Builder plugin.
3. Open Components > MuRu Reviews > Dashboard. If this is a fresh install you will see a friendly "not configured yet" state -- that is normal.

Updating later? New releases arrive through Joomla's own updater under System > Update > Extensions -- your settings, cache, and license key all survive the update. See Updates & Upgrades.
