Add-on Groups and Fields

A group is a set of fields shown together on the products you choose. Set them up on the Add-on groups tab of the plugin settings.

Add a group

1. Press the add button under Groups.
2. Group name: for you only, to find it in the list.
3. Show this group: switch a group off without deleting it.
4. Show on: Products I pick, then choose them in Products. (Pro adds Products in categories I pick and All products.)
5. Add its Fields, top to bottom in the order buyers see them.

Each field

• Label: shown to the buyer, and in the cart, the order and the emails.
• Type: Checkbox (yes or no), Dropdown, Radio buttons or Short text. (Pro adds Long text, Number and Date.)
• Required: the product cannot be added to the cart, or ordered, without it.
• Price and Price is: for a checkbox or a text field. A dropdown or radio field has Options instead, each with its own price.
• Longest text: for text fields, in characters (0 uses 100 for short text).
• Placeholder and Help text: optional.

Several groups can show on one product. The free edition shows the first 3 fields of a product, counting across its groups.

Renaming is safe

Every field and option gets a permanent id when you save. You can rename a field or reorder options and the choices already in carts and orders stay attached.
