Display Rules

Menu, Category, Language & User Group Rules (Pro)

Last updated: October 17, 2026

Edition: Pro. Requires an active Pro license. Without one this feature shows a Pro banner and cannot be used.

What it does

Pro adds four rule types so a header or footer shows only where you want it. Values are picked from your real site data, so there are no IDs to type.

Where to find it

On the item, the Display rules tab. Click Add display rule and choose the rule type.

The rule types

  • Menu items: the item shows when the visitor is on one of the menu items you pick (the active menu item of the page).
  • Categories: the item shows on a category page and on articles in the categories you pick.
  • Languages: the item shows when the page's site language is one of those you pick.
  • User groups: the item shows for visitors in one of the groups you pick. Guests belong to the Guest group.

Combining rules

All rules on an item must pass for it to show. Each rule can be set to Include or Exclude, see Include, Exclude & Priority.

Examples

  • Landing header: one Menu items rule listing your Offers and Campaign pages.
  • Footer per language: one footer per language, each with a Languages rule.
  • Members header: a User groups rule with Registered.

If your Pro license is not active, these rule types are not available and rules you saved earlier are ignored, not deleted. They stay on the item and work again once the license is active.
